Here's how one person reports it:
Evil exists all around us, but looking back at the historical record of the past 200 years, across the globe, where is “evil” and “malevolence” most often found? In the hands of those with the power, the governments. That greatest human tragedies on record and the largest loss of innocent human life can be attributed to governments. Who do the governments always target? “Scapegoats” and “enemies” within their own borders….but only after they have been disarmed to the point where they no longer pose a threat. Ask any Native American, and they will tell you it was inferior technology and lack of arms that contributed to their demise. Ask any Armenian why it was so easy for the Turks to exterminate millions of them, and they will answer “We were disarmed before it happened.” Ask any Jew what Hitler’s first step prior to the mass murders of the Holocaust was — confiscation of firearms from the people. Those who are conservative Christians and libertarians are now on the other side of the government, which considers us enemies of the radical liberal, socialist, progressive agenda it has, and is no longer being hidden now that those running the government feel they have safely come to power, and will hold it for a long time.
As the attempt to ride roughshod over the 2nd Amendment plays itself out, keep in mind that it was placed in the Constitution in order to protect the American people against tyrants and foreign armies that may come against them from within the country or without.
Before you jump on the emotionally charged bandwagon for gun control, take a moment to reflect on the real purpose of the Second Amendment, the right of the people to take up arms in defense of themselves, their families, and property in the face of invading armies or an oppressive government. The argument that the Second Amendment only applies to hunting and target shooting is asinine. When the United States Constitution was drafted, “hunting” was an everyday chore carried out by men and women to put meat on the table each night, and “target shooting” was an unheard of concept. Musket balls were a precious commodity and were certainly not wasted on “target shooting.” The Second Amendment was written by people who fled oppressive and tyrannical regimes in Europe, and it refers to the right of American citizens to be armed for defensive purposes, should such tyranny arise in the United States. The conclusion of this wonderful article is this.
He is absolutely correct, and we must closely watch our local and state officials in order to hold them accountable on this issue, which has nothing to do with the tragedy of a very small number of deaths from firearms, but rather has been born long ago from those that know they can't take over a populace that is armed to the teeth. Before any American citizen blindly accepts whatever new firearms legislation that is about to be doled out, they should stop and think about something for just one minute. — Evil does exist in our world. It always has and always will. Throughout history evil people have committed evil acts. In the Bible one of the first stories is that of Cain killing Abel. We can not legislate “evil” into extinction. Good people will abide by the law, and the criminal element will always find a way around it.
This isn't a call to literally have gun fights with government officials, but rather a nod towards the fact that a free people should and will have the right to own guns in order to protect themselves against the evil that exists everywhere in the world.
In the future local citizens may need to be deputized in order to protect the area from those wanting to harm the ones living in it, and nothing on earth should pressure us to lay down our arms in hopes some 911 call will result in our loved ones and friends being protected.
It doesn't matter how many children Obama surrounds himself with when he attempts to act like a dictator rather than an elected official, or how he cynically uses victims of deranged and drugged up young killers to advance his oppressive agenda.
Don't buy into the lie about disarming the population making life safer. It won't. Just look at the statistics from Great Britain where residents can't even defend themselves against intruders that break into their homes. This is after they have become compliant accomplices in their own victim hood. We must fight so it never happens in America.
A major problem is the mainstream media refuses to report on the tens of thousands of times homeowners survived break ins and attacks by having a firearm of some type at home.
We look for Kentucky politicians to take a stand on the behalf of all the people in the Commonwealth, telling Obama and the federal government that we'll decide what's best for us, and not them.
The key thing to remember is there is no doubt there will some day be another mass shooting at a school. It's inevitable. Do you really think banning certain types of guns will keep that from happening? We all know it won't.
And as tragic as that will be, only a fool would tie that in to disarming a population in order to create the illusion evil can be stopped by removing guns from everyone.
