Like his father former Texas Rep. Ron Paul, Rand wants to have a bigger voice and "larger microphone" on issues vital to Americans, so a presidential campaign would definitely provide him with a larger national voice.
The Senator will make trips to early voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire soon, and in the summer will travel to South Carolina to get a feel for the electorate and where the political winds may be blowing.
Rand Paul is one of the favorites of Tea Party voters.
