Stewie the Longest Cat, Dies

Declared to be the longest cat by Guinness World Records, Stewie, which was 48.5 inches long as measured from the tip of his tail to the tip of his nose, died of cancer on Monday at eight years old.

The gentle feline giant died at about 7:30 PM on Monday at the home of its owner, Robin Hendrickson, in Reno, Nevada. Also owning the cat was Erik Brandsness.

He was diagnosed with cancer a year ago, and after chemotherapy and radiation, was thought to be in remission.

And if you're wondering, Stewie was named after the character in Family Guy.
